Collection: J-Beauty Ancient Secret | Japanese Matcha & Sake Ritual

Japanese skincare, edited into one quiet ritual.

This collection is my J-Beauty Ancient Secret — Kyoto matcha from KITAO (a house making cosmetics since 1919) and a sake-lees treatment mask from Dassai, the junmai daiginjo brewery. Fewer steps than a 10-step routine. More focus on barrier comfort, hydration, and that clear, rested glow Japanese skincare is known for.

The tea ritual — KITAO Matcha (daily)
Organic Uji matcha with chia, quinoa, and acai. Cleanse, refine, layer a watery essence, then seal.

  • Matcha & Chia Cleansing Cream — melts makeup without stripping
  • Enzyme Powder Wash — a soft foam cleanse (or travel wash)
  • Exfoliating Gel — gentle polish when skin looks dull
  • Essence Lotion — the Japanese “lotion” step: hydrate and prep
  • Facial Cream — lock in moisture and a calm finish

The sake secret — Dassai (1–2× a week)
Dassai Facial Treatment Mask with sake lees essence, hydrolyzed collagen, and vitamin C for a plumper, brighter-looking complexion after ten minutes.

How to use the ritual

  1. Cleanse with the Matcha cream (add powder wash in the evening if you like a second cleanse).
  2. Exfoliate 1–2× a week with the gel.
  3. Press on Essence Lotion while skin is still damp.
  4. Seal with Facial Cream.
  5. Swap in the Dassai mask at night when you want extra glow.

Best for dry, sensitive, or tired-looking skin that wants hydration and clarity without a crowded shelf.

Pro tip: Layer Essence Lotion twice before cream — that is the classic Japanese lotion method, and it is how this edit actually glows and Don't forget your sunscreen during the day.
